Lighting Designer / Creative Technologist
About the Role?
We’re looking for a creative, independent, and committed Lighting Designer who can bring energy and vision to events at Speakerbox. This role goes beyond simply operating lights – you’ll be shaping the atmosphere, enhancing performances, and collaborating closely with artists to create memorable shows. You’ll have the freedom to experiment with lighting design and visual content, while also taking ownership of technical preparation, setup, and execution. The ideal candidate thrives in a live environment, adapts quickly to different event styles, and delivers consistent, high-quality results.

In this role you will
- Design and prepare lighting scenarios for each show, in collaboration with performing artists.
- Operate and program lighting systems for a wide range of events, from live concerts to DJ sets.
- Prepare basic visual content for projector displays (e.g., band logos, simple TouchDesigner patches).
- Execute lighting and visual control during live performances.
- Maintain and troubleshoot lighting equipment, stage wiring, and control systems.
- Assist with creating and running basic interactive visual patches in TouchDesigner.
You might thrive in this role if you
- Communicative English skills (spoken and written).
- Proven experience in live event lighting design and operation.
- Solid knowledge of DMX and ArtNet protocols, stage technology, and wiring practices.
- At least basic proficiency in TouchDesigner for visuals.
- Creativity, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
